Samaritan's Purse mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States. The Procurement/Inventory Specialist plays a vital role in procuring and maintaining and adequate supply of materials, equipment and services for the team so they are ready to deploy at a moment's notice.

S amaritan's Purse is a non-denominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. For over 40 years, Samaritan's Purse (SP) has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ.

All employees will proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through their employment to further Samaritan’s Purse mission.

SUMMARY
Responsible for working with Samaritan’s Purse North American Ministries (NAM) staff to complete purchase requisitions, obtain competitive bids, maintain the fixed asset inventory list, and assist in facilitating Gift In Kind (GIK) donations. Procures materials, equipment, and services for NAM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


1. Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.

2. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers; maintain current information on companies that provide all types of tools, equipment, and supplies that could support our department.

3. Research equipment purchases and supply orders as requested; execute all required transactional paperwork in a time sensitive manner; maintain detailed records of bids, quotes and analyses associated with procurement activities.

4. Oversee the preparation and issuance of requisition requests; review requisitions and contracts for conformance to company policy

5. Handle procurement of materials, equipment, tools, parts and services for NAM.

6. Maintain warehouse inventory levels and place orders to replenish as needed.

7. Responsible for bi-annual fixed asset inventories and a quarterly cycle count of items.

8. Work with vendors for potential GIK donations; record GIK donations given to NAM. During disasters, will maintain a list of items offered and ensure an acknowledgement and thank you is provided to the donor.

9. Analyze and prepare reports associated with procurement and inventory; create active working files, e-files, and summaries for each project on a needed basis.

10. Follow policies and procedures of Samaritan’s Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual.

11. Attend daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers.

12. Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general
public.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, as well as able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The position requires a person who is proactive and able to work under stressful situations and multi-task under extreme deadlines. The applicant should be familiar with power and hand tools used for demolition and construction projects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required to obtain and keep current a DOT medical card. Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to work a forklift. Must have a valid operator's license.

Occasional Travel as needed.
