Samaritan's Purse mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States. We often stay behind after our initial response to rebuild or restore houses for needy families. The Program Manager works in assigned regions of disaster aftermath in recovery and rebuilding, supervising staff and leading volunteers as well as coordinating and partnering with churches, local governments, and other relief agencies. Position requires frequent travel.

All employees will proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through their employment to further Samaritan’s Purse mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ

2. Maintain “real time” awareness of all site activities and all aspects of ongoing projects.

3. Fill in for on site for staff in any position should they be out of the office for an extended period of time due to vacation, sickness, or termination.

4. Manage smaller, short term rebuilding projects in which a full time staff will not be hired. This will include being able to manage volunteers in all phases of construction.

5. Assist Manager of Recovery and Development in periodic jobsite and project visits to ensure the success and quality of each project.

6. Lead and assist with in-house building projects.

7. Oversee construction and other work done by independent contractors.

8. Track tools and their condition and provide as needed to on site teams.

9. When on site, greet and welcome volunteer teams; make daily visits to work sites; assist with delivery of tools and supplies as needed.

10. Communicate and minister to disaster victims, keeping them informed of the team's work.

11. Work with local churches to ensure follow-up with homeowners and program continuation after Samaritan's Purse is gone.

12. Handle conflict resolution as necessary with staff, volunteer teams, homeowners, churches, or other agencies.

13. Understand and ensure adherence to all safety policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
When on site, manage 4-8 subordinate supervisors including the Volunteer Coordinator, Office Manager, Logistics Coordinator, Construction Supervisors, who supervise 20-40 volunteers. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or a year’s experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Contractor’s License helpful, but not required.
Class A CDL preferred.
